Why choose us
A local team, not a travel agency
We began guiding in Dharavi in 2012, working for travel companies and showing visitors a side of Mumbai the tour buses drive straight past. When travel stopped in 2020, that work disappeared overnight.
Rather than wait for it to come back, we started again on our own terms and built Mumbai Experiences. Today we are a small team of guides. Most of us were born in Dharavi. We are students, graduates and guides who have been doing this for over a decade.
We keep groups small, we set our own prices, and we choose which places we take you to. Nobody is selling you an add-on you did not ask for, and no commission is disappearing to a booking platform.
The people who know a place best are the people who live in it.

Dharavi is a neighbourhood, not an exhibit. Nobody is photographed inside a home or workshop without being asked first.

Our guides come from the communities we visit, and we buy from the businesses we walk you through.

About poverty, about redevelopment, about whether you should be here at all. Honestly, and from lived experience.
We keep groups small
Enough room to ask questions and talk to people along the way, rather than following a raised flag through a crowd.
